Alma Tavern Theatre first opened its doors in 1997 when the two function rooms above the pub were transformed into a small but perfectly formed theatre. And, of course, you can take your drink into the theatre. Well, it wouldn't be a proper pub theatre without that, would it?
By car The Alma Tavern is on Alma Vale Road off of Pembroke Road in Clifton.

Ashton Court is a magnificent estate covering 850 acres of woods and grassland with breathtaking views over the city of Bristol. This historic public space is one of the finest spots to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city - without leaving it at all! The gardens and grounds of the stunning mansion, (a Grade 1 listed Elizabethan mansion build around a 15th Century core), make an ideal spot for a stroll or picnic. It is however, the stunning natural heritage that makes Ashton Court Estate so special - it's a nationally important site for wildlife, insects and trees.
Festival productions take place outside in the gardens at the rear of the main house, at the foot of the sweeping drive.
By car exit the M5 at junction 19. Take the A369 exit off the roundabout, towards Bristol, signposted Easton-in-Gordano and Clifton (Toll). Pass through Abbots Leigh and Leigh Woods. At Leigh Woods, carry straight on past the turning for Clifton Suspension Bridge on the left and the main gateway to the Ashton Court Estate is on the right.
By bus The 358/359 Bus Service stops directly outside Clifton Lodge.

Bristol Zoo Garden is a 12 acre site in Clifton that is run by the The Bristol, Clifton and West of England Zoological Society Ltd. With over 400 amazing species from lions to love beetles. Experience animal encounters and feeding times.
By car From the M5: J17 take the A4018 then follow brown elephant signs. From Bristol City Centre: follow the brown elephant signs and/or signs to Clifton.
By bus A Zoo Safari ticket on any First bus in Bristol centre gives discounted bus travel/Zoo entry. This applies to adult and child tickets only. Frequent services: 8 and 9 buses run between Temple Meads Station, the City Centre and the Zoo.

Upstairs at the Lansdown is a new and exciting pub theatre venture, Upstairs At The Lansdown, is an intimate, up-close and personal "in-the-round" performance space above The Lansdown Public House in the heart of Clifton and is in keeping with the pub's commitment to live entertainment and supporting the arts and local artists.
By car The Lansdown Pub is on Clifton Road off of the B3129

Queen Square is a magnificent Georgian square restored as part of a Heritage Lottery funded project. Its central location is very popular, and it is adjacent to bustling commercial districts, the Old City and the redeveloped Harbourside. In the summer months the square is leafy, green and very beautiful.
By car From the M32, follow signs for the city centre. Limited meter parking is available on King Street and in Queen Square (£1.50 after 6pm). There is a multi-storey car park on Queen Charlotte Street.
By bus Buses 8/8A and 9/9A run regularly to the city centre from Temple Meads railway station.
